Eat right using these simple tips.
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.
-Adelle Davis (Nutritionist)

What time was your last meal? Did you give your body enough FUEL the last time you ate or are you running on empty?  Of all the times you eat during the day, eating breakfast is the jump start that you need for your day.

This is the most important meal of the day because it breaks the overnight fasting periods and replenishes your supply of glucose. Glucose is your body's energy source and is broken down and absorbed from the carbohydrates you eat. In the morning, after you have gone without food for as long as 12 hours, your glucose levels drop.  Your body will compensate by releasing the glucose that has been stored in your muscle tissue and liver, called glycogen. Once all the energy from the glycogen stored is used up, the body breaks down fatty acids to produce energy. If you do not include carbohydrates, fatty acids are only partially oxidized, which can cause reduced energy levels. Jump start your metabolism from the overnight fast.  You want to make sure and select easy and healthy foods that will give you the nutrients and energy you need to have a great day.

If you're trying to lose weight, the last thing you want to do is keep your metabolism at this lowered state.  Skipping breakfast will contribute to this.   Eating a healthy breakfast will increase your fat burning ability, boost your energy levels as well as your metabolism for the day, and increase your essential nutrients and overall energy levels.

No matter what you choose, oatmeal, yogurt, whole-grain cereal, or eggs, a healthy breakfast provides a significant proportion of the day's total nutrient intake and offers the opportunity to eat foods filled with nutrients such as foliate, iron, vitamins and fiber. Essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients can only be gained from food.

Not only does eating breakfast keep you at a top physical performance, it also improves your mental performance and thinking ability. You will feel your best, your muscles will recover faster, you will sleep better, and you will have plenty of energy to get you through your day!
